Macleay College

Macleay College is a private institute located in Australia. The institute has three campuses across Australia – The Sydney Campus, The Melbourne campus and the Brisbane Campus which provide Bachelor and Diploma Courses to its students. The institute has been raked favorably in the QUILT Survey with about 89.9% favorable responses in the skill development sector and 85.8% responses in the teaching quality. The Bachelor in Journalism and Bachelor of Advertising and Media courses are high recommended by the students and rightfully so since these popular courses have a placement rate of more than 80% per batch. The fact that Macleay also recommends its students to several internships also contribute to high placements.

Macleay College admissions takes place in three intake sessions – First Trimester, Second Trimester and Third Trimester with an acceptance rate of 45%. Macleay College Campus

Macleay believes in ‘Project based Learning’ as a proof of which it has a number of facilities for Journalism and Advertising & Media Students at their campuses.

  • Macleay has three campus – The Sydney Campus, The Melbourne Campus and the Brisbane Campus. The student can choose any one as per his convenience.
  • Each class at a campus does not exceed 25 students. Small classes means that the students are able to coordinate and work together with each other and their lecturer more effectively.
  • The campuses have an internship tie up with the local industries in the area, so that the student can be intimately familiar with the real workings of an industry.
  • The lecturers at campuses themselves are qualified and highly experienced professionals
  • For Advertising & Media Students a dedicated Radio Room, Recording studio and a Newsroom has been setup at each campus. A state of the art presentation room has also been set up for business students.

How to apply: The students have to apply online at: vpointvisa.com/apply-now . He would be then contacted by a Macleay Agent/Advisor for further guidance into admissions. The citizens of Australia can apply through VTAC (for students currently in Year 12) or UAC.

Application fee: 350 AUD for Bachelor’s program and 250 AUD for Diploma Programs.
Application Deadline: Macleay College admits students in three sessions in a year. These sessions are termed as trimesters, the details of which are given below –

Macleay College Admission Requirements

The admission requirement changes as per the type of course applied for, the diploma programs have different requirements than the graduation programs.

Common requirements:

  • Applicant should have a valid passport
  • A candidate must be eligible to obtain a student visa for Australia.
  • The candidate must obtain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before orientation, if selected for admissions
  • Proof of sufficient funds to continue education in Australia
  • Certified copies of the Academic Transcripts of Year 12 or equivalent education.

Macleay College Scholarship and Financial Aids

The college itself does not provide any scholarships or any other financial aid to its international students but the students can apply for scholarships with the Australian Government.

Macleay is registered with the FEE-HELP program, which is the most popular scholarship for the international students awarded by the Australian government to the International Students currently studying in Australia. In this program, a part of the fee is awarded as a scholarship and a part is provided as a loan to the student. The maximum amount that can be granted as a scholarship in this program is 18,000 AUD

How to avail of this scholarship?

Student has to register himself on the FEE-HELP official website and the submit documentations approved by the Macleay Authorities along with is personal details, academics back round, current education and the pass rate. Work while you Study

Maclean College provides the option of 3 days a week full time study meaning that the student can opt for longer duration of classes three days a week instead of the normal schedule of classes. This greatly benefits the students who want to do part-time jobs off campus.
